Royal Mills

Royal Mills is a multi-award-winning regeneration of the historic Grade II* Listed Royal Mills in Ancoats, Manchester. Located within the completed glass atrium courtyard of the 1818 Sedgewick Buildings, the scheme provides spaces for a broad scope of commercial and residential use in line with the mixed ethic behind the original restoration and conversion of the mills.

With guidance from heritage experts & industrial historians, modern homes, offices & retail spaces were created whilst preserving & expressing the vaulted ceilings, cast iron columns and arches emblematic with these important mills.

Royal Mills was once the epicentre of Manchester’s cotton spinning industry, the world’s first ‘industrial suburb’ which has now been rejuvenated for the 21st century.
